Property Division

The division of property in a divorce can be one of the most contested issues in a case.

In Minnesota, the courts are required to make a just and equitable division of the marital property.  This legal approach requires consideration of a variety of factors and does not always mean an equal division.  Also, the equitable division of assets and debts can become more complex when there is a dispute as to whether property/debt is marital or non-marital and how other factors impact the party to whom it is awarded.

The attorneys at Schneider Peterson Johnson, LLC have extensive experience handling the division of marital assets and debts for estates of all sizes.  We will guide you through the identification, classification and division of your marital estate in an insightful and informative way.
