Emily B. Peterson
Founding Partner
Emily focuses her practice in the area of family law. She is a compassionate and empathetic advocate for her clients. She works with to find the best path towards resolution during what is often a very difficult and challenging time. Emily is a strong negotiator and effectively advocates for her clients throughout the dispute resolution process. However, if a settlement cannot be reached, she is also an effective and experienced litigator in the courtroom.
Prior to co-founding Schneider Peterson Law, LLC, Emily had extensive experience representing clients in private practice as well as serving as a judicial law clerk in both Hennepin and Olmsted Counties.
Emily earned her Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Emily serves her community in the following roles:
Second Judicial District Conciliation Court Referee
Ramsey County Election Judge
Chair of the City of St. Paul Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission (HREEOC)
Board Member of the Legal Assistance of Dakota County Board of Directors
Emily is an active member of the Minnesota State and Ramsey County Bar Associations, the Family Law League, and Minnesota Women Lawyers.
